Wine Labels & Packaging
Since 2007, I have worked in the wine industry and helped create several wine labels, and packages.
Gifft Cherish Sparkling
GIFFT is Kathie Lee Gifford’s line of wines and a brand by Scheid Family Wines. I had the opportunity to create her Sparkling package. The peach profile is the emphasis of the wine and I chose to add a custom touch to this sparkling label, a peach drawn in pencil by hand.
Peju Graces Series
The Peju Graces series of wines features the famous Peju Oak tree in Calistoga. The tree is hand-drawn and the labels are printed on tall tan linen paper, with the logo and tree embossed.
Peju Reserve Cabs
A redesign that adds elegance, glamour, and luxury. The Peju Brand is enhanced with gold foil, larger labels, and touches of red.
Peju Piccolo
This was a collaboration with Herta Peju as she had an idea of the label “paper” being made of wood. I laid it out and presented her with several options, but this was the winner.
Peju Rose of Syrah
When I started at Peju Winery, the Rose of Syrah was going to be a first vintage for the Peju family. I got to design this label directly with Mrs Herta Peju.
Peju Carnival
"Carnival" is a popular summer wine that I was asked to redesign to refresh its packaging. The balloons on the label were hand-drawn to give them character and a contrasting font was chosen to complement the simple artwork. The name "Carnival" is embossed in silver foil, adding a touch of elegance to the overall design.
Peju Provence
This is one of Peju’s top-selling red blends, today called Province. I was thrilled to get the chance to re-design this trendy wine and I probably went through roughly 120 different design versions for this label until the Peju family came to decide on the final artwork.
Peju Sketches
Herta Peju came to me with a watercolor drawing that wanted me to use for a new label. We co-created this label with my handwritten name of the wine, “Sketches 1”. The plan was to make a series of custom art for each new varietal.
